Dance Speaks Performing Arts Academy is a Military Spouse owned family business, specializing in ballet, contemporary/lyrical, jazz and modern dance. The Performing Arts program provides students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to explore their creative potential while also imparting life skills such as teamwork and self-discipline. Dance Speaks instructors provide premier dance training in a comprehensive format that inspires creativity and self-expression, while promoting Health, Confidence and Education.

The Academy’s dance program offers a unified curriculum rooted in classical techniques including Cechetti, Vaganova, ABT, Horton, Dunham and Fosse.  The Academy’s founder, Lené Bostick promotes focusing on the dancer in their entirety to include physical health, comprehension, self-esteem, creativity and emotional conveyance-acknowledging and helping to develop all attributes of a well-rounded dancer. The Academy welcomes students of all experience levels, backgrounds and races, and are advocates for the efforts to improve diversity in classical ballet.

Lené Bostick-Owner/Founder

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska Lené has over 15 years experience as a professional choreographer, dancer, and dance educator. As a military spouse Lené has implemented dance & performing arts mentor-ship programs across the U.S. and with military affiliated organizations. 90% of these programs are still thriving independently in AK, NV, NC, and VA. With a training foundation rooted in classical ballet, Lené has had the opportunity to train at some of the most prestigious institutions, receiving a scholarship to Dance Theatre of Harlem at the age of 15 she later became a member of the Ailey certificate program. She has danced professionally with Alaska Dance Theatre, The Long Leaf Opera, Riddick Dance, Fletcher Nickerson Jazz Co., and Project Dance NY. Lené attended UNLV in Las Vegas where she majored in dance and choreography, and also obtained a B.S. in Business Management from Shaw University.

Lené enjoys speaking to Youth Groups about the importance of healthy living, the benefits of dance, & the history & evolution of diversity in dance.





Dance Speaks Performing Arts Academy was born out of a desire to expand dance and performing arts exposure, and it’s many benefits throughout all socioeconomic levels of the community.
Our mission is to connect the classical performing arts to our community, and communities under-exposed to these programs; in a conscious effort to expand art exposure and awareness of it's benefits.


She has successfully developed and  implemented dance education curriculum into the Charter /Home-School Engagement Program, as physical health & movement therapy. As well as, developed employee fitness programs for a military veteran and spouse employment corp. to contribute to their employees wellness benefits. Lené has served as the creative director and led the Pre-Professional division at Beauty for Ashes School of Dance, M.A.L.D academy, and has served as dance faculty at Legacy Academy, Walltown Childrens Theatre,Lyon Park Community Center and The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation.

As the director, Lené makes it a priority for Dance Speaks to partner with small, veteran owned, and minority businesses in an effort to support the cause of entrepreneurship in the community.
